![]() ![]() There is a tachymeter around the circumference of the dial and a minute and seconds track around the circumference of the dial. This is the Croton Sea Diver, a classic water-worthy sport watch made with stainless steel and dutifully powered by Japanese quartz movement. The subdials are painted white with running seconds at 9 o’clock, chronograph minutes at 3 and chronograph hours at 6 o’clock. The sub dial hands are all painted black. The Hour, Minute and Chronograph Seconds hands are all silver in color and have luminous compound. The dial is matte black in color with silver hour marker inserts. This is a very cool, large piece which comes with an interesting story, making it perfect for many collectors. The watch has been fitted with a brand new heavy stitch Hirsch strap. The watch is in fair condition with its original screw down crown and rotating bezel. Of course we can come up with any story to suit our own narrative but we have since found multiple models with the same ghosted Croton front behind the Rotary logo making this certainly not a one off. We think that Rotary had a few pieces, removed just the Croton logo and applied theirs making the watch quite unique. When we looked closer at the rotary logo we noticed some ghost font that starts with a “C” and ends with a “N”, Croton? we think so. What makes this watch so interesting, and somewhat mysterious, is that this watch model is from Croton (Nivada Grenchen) and we have not seen a partnership from them before. The watch is housing a manual wind Valjoux Cal 7736 Chronograph movement. This is an interesting, large Rotary Croton Diver-Chronograph that back in the day was water resistant to 200m.
